Hi! - As'Salaam Wa'Alaikum -

I’m Sumayyah (SOO-MAY-YAH), a multi-disciplinary illustrator and graphic designer- dually conducting business in New Jersey and the DC-Maryland-Virginia region. I’m a Muslim of Afro-Caribbean and African-American heritage with a BFA in Studio Art (Illustration).

I have worked for The Chamberlain Student Center & Campus Activities at Rowan University. There, I designed advertisements for events and apparel designs for the company’s departments. I have been featured in several gallery exhibitions throughout my college education, and create illustrations for purposes such as books, packaging, album covers, and more.

I constantly find ways to integrate culture(s) into my artwork while utilizing my vast color theory. My work applies to various categories of illustration and graphic design. I hope to use my degree and experience in multiple subcategories in the art field. As well as become an art professor to help others grow in their craft.
